The suction frame will be long enough to dredge to a depth of 40 feet.

These large pumps will be operated directly by a Diesel en- gine of the trunk-piston type, while the cutter gear and other dredging machinery will be elec trically operated, current being supplied by Diesel-driven genera tors. The vessel will be employ- ed on an extensive reclamation scheme which the Burmah Oll Company have on hand.

Asia Lands, Limited, has received the following report from their New! York correspondents, E. A. Pierce & Co. The obviously dominating factor today was whether or not the President's address means the so-called in fla tions. It does seem a definite step from so called orthodox principles. There is a tentative feeling, which may become more pronounced, that sentiment will again veer in the direction of ownership of équities as a desirable policy.

Whoat: The President's speech encouraged buyers. There was a fair milling demand.

Cotton: Prices advanced sharply on the President's statement. The advance, however, attracted Southern selling, which proved to exceed demand. Trade bought sparingly.

Silver: Opened firm in sympathy with the strong sterling rate and advanced further as a result of continued support, encouraged by the action of other markets.

Business Done: 2,120,000 shares.
