The Home Football season is now in full swing alliough it is but three weeks old, some surprises have been recorded. It is the early season upsets that make the league competitions so interesting, and while it is too early to make any predictions as regards the ultimate out- come of the competitions, some teams are attracting plenty of attention. "These teams show definite promise of while a few of the combinations doing something big

matches so far. "Grimsby although having the advantage of playing at home, will have a tough task against Preston who have so far won all the four matches they have played. In"

Brentford, playing away, will have to improve a good deal on Saturday when they meet Ply- mouth.

"Aston Villa. Having the advan thge of playing at home, Astonprobability, Preston should win. Villa, last year's runners-up, should aveuge their defeat at the hands of Tottenham Spurs last week, by taking full points from Liverpool. However, it must be taken into consideration that Liverpool is in a much better league position thar Aston Villa, but on the whole, I think the latter should win.

W'est Bromwich.-West Brom- wich, although playing away. will have to go all out if they wish to record their second win of the season on Saturday when they meet Blackburn who have so far won two out of three matches. It is very difficult to forecast the. result of this match. but I think a drawn game most likely.

As far as most form shows. I think the Stoke City can hope for will be to share the points:

Wolves. This team which was beaten by Chelsed last week will, In all probability take full points Cron Sunderland who were also hreaten last Saturday. However, in view of the fact that they are almost in a similar teague position, it will not be very surprising it "the game should be drawn, but the odds are slightly in favour of the home team.

Leicester City only managed to draw with Manchester last week and they must exert themselves it they hope to break even in their match with Tottenham Hotspurs Us Saturday, as the latter show- ed surprisingly good form to beat the Arsenal earlier on.

Newcastle will meet Derby City this week-end and although the latter have not won a game as vet, the chances are that the game vil end in a division of points.

Chelsea should not find any dif- Ecuity. In retaining their 100 per cent. record when they meet Shef- field United.

Norwich City conadently expect to be again in the promotion struggle at the end of the 1933-34 season. "We did it last year," they argue, and we are retaining the bulk of last season's players."

Newcomers to the forward line are: W. H. Warnes (outside right), formerly of Working Town and an amateur International, who spent last season as a professional with the Arsenal; Vinall, who, after making a name with Folkestone. had eighteen months in the ser- vice of Sunderland; T. Pike (in- side or outside left) formerly of Southend; and R. E Thompson, a nineteen-year-old player who has been with Hartlepools United

The defence is expected to be the same as at the end of last season.

Directors and shareholders dur- ing the close season have been much troubled as to the future home of the club. The" directors were equally divided on the ques- tion of whether the club should Stay at The Nest, where they have been since 1903, or move to Boun- dary Park on the city, boundary. Problem Settled
