COMPETITORS

The preparations for the Machine Gun Troop Gymkhana to be held to-morrow, at the polu ground are now complete and it only needs fine weather, of which there is every pros pect to ensure a very successful afternoon's sports.

The entries, which we give in full below, indicate the interest that is being taken in the sport, both by members of the troop and others and there is no doubt that those who go will see a fine exhibition of horsemanship together with plenty of keen healthy rivalry.

It is understood that a large number of tickets have been soli by members of the troop and there is sure to be a bumper attendance on the grounds. The prizes will be given away at the conclusion of the sports by Lady Peel, who together with His Excellency the Governor, and Major Gen. and Mis. Bor- rett are going to be present during the afternoon.

The catering for teas and refrosliments are in the able bazids of Messrs, Lane Crawfords who have erected a special Stand on the grounds to accommodate "Visitors.
