(BY OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT).

To people who have been in the Colony for a very long time, the changes that have taken place in Kowloon are but a matter of course, but to the man who has been away from the Colony for a number of years, it holds a dif- ferent meaning altogether.

The other day I went out with someone who

Kowloon Tong, also made a very good impression and as we were beginning to ride a little taster now, we soon left the garden city behind and once again got into the old, native area. The contrast was very sharp. A few minutes previously, we might have been in a suburban town in England for all that we had seen, and now back to China again, China of immemorial. antiquity,
