HONG KONG FOOTBALL CLUB

MR. H. R. FORSYTH REVIEWS PAST YEAR AT ANNUAL MEETING

BID TO REGAIN SOCCER

PREMIERSHIP

That the Club would make every endeavour to regain its, soccer premiership was the hope expressed by Mr. H. R. Forsyth yesterday when he presided over the annual meeting of the Hong Kong Football Club. Mr. Forsyth said that in past years the Club Soccer XI. was a power in the land and he could see no reason why it should not continue to do so.

In the course of his speech, Mr. Forsyth said that there had been a decrease in the number of new members, but gate receipts showed a definite improvement over, that of the previous year. ¿

1

The facilities for sport provided by the Club have steadily improved especially over the past decade, and he felt that the progress and enterprise which pervaded the Club to-day would carry the Club's reputation still higher and enhance the prestige of football, the encouragement of which sport would always be worthy of their highest

endeavour.
