THRILLING DRAMA OF

U.S. JUSTICE

The Woman Accused which start- ed at the Queen's Theatre yester day on a four days' run was writ ten by ben of America's foremost authors, Rupert Hughes, Vicki Baum, Zane Grey, Vina Delmar, Irvin S. Cobb, Gertrude Atherton, J. P. McEvoy, Uraula Parrott, Poland Banks and Sophie Kerr, and was adapted for the screen by Bayard Veiller. Nancy Carroll, Cary Grant and John Halliday have the leading roles in the film and share the honours.

The story is exceedingly good but the end is somewhat unconvincing Miss Carroll, is a rich girl who, when about to marry the man he loves (played by Grant), is fronted with an old inamorato. He refuses to give her up and a quarrel engnes which culminates in her killing him in trying to stop him from phoning gangster friend to bump off" Grant. Her faithful maid tries to hush, the matter up while she goes awdy with Grant for a pleasure trip but fails. Halliday, to whom the dead man-had been as a brother takes the thing up and suspects her. He wears to bring her to justice. With this view in end he follows her and proceeds with his attempt to trap her into some ad, mission. He meets with success at last when he arranges a "mock trial" on board the steamer and under cover of it beats down her resistance and forces her into an admission of having committed the murder.

A ROMANCE OF VIENNA

COMING TO QUEEN'S THEATRE

That sadly gay, gaily sad, ro mance of old Vienna that gained. the plaudits of Broadway theatre goers a season or so ago, comes be autifully to the Queen's Theatre on Sunday bandsomely mounted, wall played, capably directed, and lack, ing only a laat, delicious line of dialogue to be a gorgeously retint- ed replica of the amusing original. There are smiles and tears, and romantic thrilla beside, and each is offered with delicate precision by a cast of expert players: John Barrymore in a uniform is still irresistible Frank Morgan does distingui hed work as the husband. Henry Teavers: May Robson," all of them even to Bela Loblov and. Morris Nussbaum, delightful as the musicians, contribute to the enter tainment.
