A Brilliant Court: The Prince of Wales' Birthday: Kien Lung's Vase on Exhibi- tion: Greenwich Pageant: King Feisul in England: Church of England Monks: "Peter Pan's" Son Christened

(Special Air-Mail Service)

THE KING'S FIFTH COURT

LONDON, June 29,

The King held the fifth and last Court of the season at Buckingham Palace Inst night, the first that he has" held this year,

To-day he will review in, Hyde Park the London Territorial Divi-

sions.

His Majesty has now completely thrown off the effects of the rheu- matism in the shoulder which re- cently prevented him from wearing fall-dress uniform. Last night he wore that of Colonel-in-Chief of, the Scots Guards.

Although the last," it was the most brilliant Court of the year. The Queen, in a gown of gold Jame with a train, of Irish lace, was u regal gure. Beside their Majes ties in the Royal Circle were the Duke of Gloucester in Hussar uni form, Princess Alice Countess of Athlone; the Earl of Athlone, Prin- cess Helena Victoria and Princess Mary Louise.

The red roses which were the greater part of the floral decora tion made a marvellous background for the pastel shades of the de- butantes frocks. There were more brocade gowns than at the previous Courts this year, and with these gowns it was usual to have a full, train of old lace..

Miss Betty Nuthall, the lawa ten- nis player, who sprained her ankle, in a recent match, was one of those present. She made her, curtsey th her ankle tightly strapped, and was able to walk without be traying any sign that it was in any way injured.

THE PRINCE OF WALES The Prince of Wales celebrated the thirty-ninth anniversary of his birthday on June 23.
