Many parties may suppose that keep silent. We feel we had a fair we have allowed the Governor to tilt with HE. and that we got enjoy some peace since our incar-capeizad. This is not the case however, General-as Sir John's esquire, all and notwithstanding the advice of the courtesy which knight errantry an indignant friend to pitch into can dictate was extended towards him heavy, or he would never let us. This of course illustrates the im policy of our attacking Sir John, for bad as our case is, it might be worse, and H.E. having evinced every desire to alleviate our afflie tions, we cannot sulkily reject this! consideration nor ungratefully ar- cept it.
Then as to the folly of our doing so. If Sir John enjoys our capture with pleasure and satisfaction, which we have every reason to. doubt, he would revel with delight at our grinning at him through the bars, which our pitching into him would be tantamount to doing.
