The price for Ready: Silver rose 1/18 yesterday but the Forward rate was unchanged, the quota- tions remaining at 18 15/16 for Ready and 19 for Forward. Silver advices reported speculators as having operated both ways. China Banks and Indian Bazaars bought Amounts offering were small: The with America being inclined to sell tone at the close Was uncertain

at 1/4 under the quoted rates. In America the rate was quoted at 36 1/4 for Spot. The tone was steady after the decline.

New York advices reported the opening rate at 4.51 and the clos ing rate at 4.49./2. The highest rate was 4.53 and the lowest rate 4.44 1/2.

"With the exception of the. Shang. hai rate which was unchanged at 110 and the Bangkok rate which was put up to 135 other rates wera lowered.
