The 'King's opening speech at the World Economic Conference was the sixteenth time he has broadcast.
Originally his Majesty used an ordinary microphone for broadcast- ing, but recently a special instru- ment was introduced. It is a gold and silver Marconi microphone, and is now always reserved for his special use.
