Thus the St. Ninian's "School Magazine, Moffat, Scotland:-

We have played football, both rugby and association, for exercise, and there have been some quite interesting Set matches," but the main interest has centred on the golf, which has produced some capital games. FOOTBALL

SHANGHAI AND LOCAL CHINESE BEAT NAVY

A friendly football match be tween a combined team composed of players from the South Chinese. Athletic Association and Tung Hua Football Club of Shanghai versus the Royal Navy was played at Caroline Hill yesterday, and ended in a win for the Chinese by two goals to .

Despite the wet state of the ground, the game, was comparative ly fast and even, and had the sailors been little quicker on the ball they might have saved themselves from defeat. They had a share of the play, and on several occasions they penned the Chines goal, but could not score owing to their forwards being a bit slow.

fair

The Shanghai players were not: very impressive, particularly in the metter of combination, but this may, be accounted for by the fact that the team was a "mixed" one. themselves both in defence and at- tack, and as a matter of fact were langely responsible in preventing the anilors from searing.
