Six officers who joined the XXXth Regiment of Foot from Sandhurst in 1878 dined at the United Ser vice Club last evening to celebrate the fifty-fifth anniversary of their commissions. They had previous Ty, in 1998, celebrated their fiftieth anniversary.

There was one guest on the occasion, Brigadier-General A, J. A. Wright, the only surviving officer of the re giment who was senior to his six hosts when they joined.
