LONDON, April 25. The Prince of Wales was a com- petitor in the Army championship meeting which began on the, Royal Cinque Ports course at Deal yester day. He took part in the competi tiun for the Black Watch medal, but failed to find his best form. Taking 45 for the first nine holes, he played on to the 13th, from which point he did not keep his card.

Two long days of golf will have been completed before the champion ship is settled. The first competitor yesterday drove off at 7.50 a.m., and the last did not begin his round until ten hours later.

The weather conditions were not good, and the scores were high. Lt. J. E. Armstrong went round in 79, and it was not until late in the afternoon that he lost the lead to Capt. J. T.
