There were about three hundred officers and men ca parade at the Central Police Station yesterday when the Annual Inspec- tion of the Hong Kong Police Force by His Excellency tha Governor, Sir William Peel, K,H,E., K.U.M.G., took place.
Every contingent of the Force was represented, that being Europeans, Indians, Chinese, Russians and men from wei, and, in addition, the Anti-Piracy Guards and members of the Police Reserve ware present. ·
The Officers on parade included de Inspector General of Police, the Hon. Mr. E. D. C. Wolle, G., Mr. T,, H. King, Mr.W. Lö Bart Sparrow, Mr. L. H. C. Othrop, Mr. K. A. Bidmead Mr. P. Grant, and Mr. Mohinder Singh, while Mr. D. L. King End: Mr. T. 0. Tao of the Reserves were also there.
Among the large gathering present were the Hon, MA. E. Wood, the Hon. Mr. E. H. Kotewall, U.M.G., the Hon. MET. N. Ohau, Mr. Bishen Singh, Mr. Li Yau Tsun, Mr. Li Vick Mal and Mr. Tam Woon Tong..

Addressing the gathering, Hia Excellency said:-
Mr. Wolle, Officers and Men of the Hong Kong Police Force,It has been a great pleasure to me to day to carry out this inspection, und I congratulate you all on the smart and efficient parade. I also congratulate those who have re ceived; medals and commendation in recognition of special good service. and those who have won the various awards and prizes distributed this afternoon. It is over two years
since I had the privilege of inspect ing. you, and during that period you' have passed through somewhat strenuous times, more especially at the time of the anti-Japanese riots in September, 1931, and during the ensuing months. It was in faxt due to the special work thereby, entailed that it was not possible to carry out the usual inspection a year ago I take this opportunity of thanking you all for the keen and loyal way in which you carried out the special duties thrown upon you.
Apart from this, I thank you on behalf of the Gorrnment and the Colony for the loyal an excellent service which you have gendered i since I last inspected arou should also like to tender my thanks to the Police Reserve. for their valuable help, without which it would have been very difficult at times to main- tain order.
