SERGT. WHEELER BREAKS HIS LEG
Fielding only nine men for the greater part of the game, the Police did exceedingly well to lose by only two goals to South China in their match at Caroline Hill yesterday. The Police had ten men at first,
but after about twenty minutes play Wheeler broke his log and had to be taken to the Government Civil Hospital. He received a hard kick from Fung King Cheong who was in the set of shooting at goal
The match was too-sided to be in- teresting, the Chinese having pras tically the whole of the game. more goals.
Arsenal won the, Championship of the Football League to-day when they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. As Aston Villa were only able to draw with Leeds United at Birmingham, their chance of catching up vanished. Arsenal are the only London team to win the League Championship, which they did first two years ago, although in 1925-28 they got very near when they were second to Huddersfield Town who had then won for the third year in succession. Since 1025 Arsonal have won the League Cham-This is the first time the Kingstoni- pionship twice have been runners-

To-day, April 22, the match was watched by over 74,000 people. Arsenal played well and at the end of the first twenty minutes Jack, the most versatile man on the field, took Hulme's position at outside-right and wared the first goal, crashing the hall to the roof of the pet from an awkward position; and a few mninutes afterwards Bastin headed A goal from a corner-kick placed by Jack.

The Chinese could do anything but score, and this was due to the fact that they had two reserves in the forward line, and also that the
