SHANGHAI AREA PROGRAMME.
BUSY MONTH FOR THE
TROOPS
With the trooping of the colour on Empire Day, the beginning_of the usual weekly beating of "Re- treat on the rice course" and the departure of the first party for Weihaiwei, the British troops in the Shanghai Area will have a busy programme during the month of May. In addition, the naval com mander-in-chief and the military general officer comunanding will be in Shanghai together for eight days. From May 8 to 16 there will take place the official visit of the general, officer commanding the British troops in China, Major-General D. C. Borrett..
