The Hong Kong Football Club held their annual dinner at Gloucester Building on Saturday evening, Mr. H. R. Forsyth be- ing the Chair, in the place of Mr. R. M. Henderson who is, un- fortunately indisposed.
Others present included the Hon Mr. T. W. Southor, Capt. E. L. Burnett, R.N., J. W. C. Bonnar, Haj, Manners, O.B.E., Maj. Macintyre, R.A., and Dr. J. E. Selby, Captain of the Rugger Sec- tion.

After dinner, the Rugby Triangular Tournament Cup was pre- soated by Lieut.-Comdr. Hubback, on behalf of the Navy, to Dr. Selby, representing the Hong Kong Football Club,
An excellent entertainment was given during the evening by Mr. Keown (Songs of the Fair,'!) accompaniet by Mr. Fountain, Dick Barty, Rev. J. N. Lewis Bryan and Capt. Burnett.
Mr. Fomyth said:-Gentlemen, Few opportunities are given to the President of our Club to address the general body of member aud our president had looked forward to addressing you on this.occasion. Ho had, in conjunction with our worthy Secretary collected much valuable data for a speech which he kindly forwarded to me.
Research has disclosed that the first reference to a Football Club in the Colony appeared in the Evening Mail of October 20 1884, in the following terms:-
