DEATH OF PERAK'S MALAY KNIGHT
RAJA SIR CHULAN'S SERVICES
Ipoh, April 11.-The death took place at his residence in Kuala Kangsar yesterday evening of the Hon. Raja Bir Chulan bin Sultan Abdullah Raja di Hilir or Perak. Raja Sir Chulan had been ailing for the past two years and during the last few months his condition gradually worsened.
Raja Sir Chulan was born in 1800 at Tanjong Brombang, near the mouth of the Krian River, the second son of H.H. Sultan Abdul- lab. He was educated at Raf Aes Institution and at the High School, Malacca.
He returned to Perak in 1886, joined the secretariat at Kuala Kangsar and began a life of long service in the interests of the Ma
laya.
