Of Duplex, it has been said that he will offer a good tussle when he meets Racing Boy. While I not of that opinion, I think Duplex 18. a very good pony that is sure to Latch the judge's eye. I cannot be him winning the Wong Nei Chong or the Valley Stakes, as the distance appears to be a bit short but there is no reason why he should west win on April 17. when the Tower Staker comes to be run. SOME GOOD THINGS FOR THE WEEK-END: AUSTRALIANS RACE VERY OPEN
(BY MORNING DEW.")
There were quite a number of gallops at the cause yesterday and judging by the performances of "A" Canna Australian ponies, there is going to be a rattling good race on Saturday over the six furlongs,
Woodland Stag will probably have to race against both Night Star and Polar Star and were there no other starters this race would be interesting enough, but Wotin, now in the pink of con- dition is also in this event and Ngtak, brought down to a very light weight will also face the sterler. Benny Proulx will be riding Ngtuk
The Class Australian event, also, is very open, the chanees of Evening Star, Lady Glitters, But After Tent and City of Mel-* bourne being about equal. All four ponies are in good sound condition so a good race should be seen.
Of the gallops given below it will be seen that times gener- ally were on the slow skie. The following finished impressively :- Valerons, Jungle Jira, Street Singer, Ames, Mayflower, Iron Grey, The Giraffe and Hey Tor,
