LONDON, March 7. There will be no surprise at the translation of. Dr. Alington from the beadmastership of Eton to the Deanery of Durham. Himself an old Marlburian, he has never seem ed to fit into the atmosphere of Eton.

The question of Dr. Alington's successor is likely to require savere mental gymnastics from the Eton Governing Body.

At the same time, opportunity bas been taken to make turved slopes on ground formerly flat, thus help ing spectators.

For the first time since the war the Post Office has stored tele graphic facilities, and a bow tole graph office has been erected at the back of the grand stand. I hear that in all some £18,000 has been expended on this work,MAL
