BEAT KOWLOON ·
TAIKOO SECURES FIRST VICTORY OF
SEASON
The prospects of the Gunders, the present League leaders, lu the Championship were considerably anfianced by their defeat of St. Joseph's on Saturday. The Saints were without the pèrvices of several of their regular players including A. V. Gosario, the In- texporter, and this played a big part in their defeat.
At Sookunpoo the Borderers ware rather lucky to share the points with the Lincolns, as they just managed to equalias at the last minute of the game.
The Mainland teams had a bad day--all losing on home grounds. In the Senior Dívilion, Kowloon were beaten by the Police, while the Club de Recisio suffered defeat at the hands of the Návy. The junior teams of these Clubs also suffered defeat, Kowloon at the hands of Tsung Tein and Rerelo by the Borderers, (full account of these matches will be formd in our Kowloon Supple- ment).
The biggest surprise of the day, however, was in the Third Division where Taikoo, at present at the bottom of the League, secured their first victory of the season by beating the Signals.
They have played 21 matches and only secured four points!

This game was played at Happy Yalley and ended in a win for the Gunners by five goals to three. St. Joseph's, folded several reser- ves, and were without the services of their star forward, A. V. Gosa no. Their defence was weak, and the halves were not inspiring, but their towarda were fast and dangerous despite Gosanc'sub- sence. By the play seen, the Saints would probably have won the match had, they turned out their reguli eleven, The Gun- is, although brilliant at times, did not play up to their usual standard and the most dangerous part of their attack, was the coun- bination on the left between Moore and Seal.
The Saints kicked-off, and within a minute, took the lead through B. Gosano from a nice pass by Omar. Despite this early setback, the Gunners were always on the offensive, and after about Fren minutes play foore equaled- from a pass by Bryant Bhortly afterwards, the Gunters took the lend through Bryant From then on the flunners had most of the play, but Gough missed two nice opportunities when, with no one to mark him, he shot wildly over the
