Considerable interest has been shewn in a test carried out on a 17. inches diametrs Vibro Conerete Pile at the new Stock Exchange Building in Ice House St.

Tho pile tested was driven to rary 4 working" load of 50 tons and

after maturing for a little over a month it was decided to subject it! ten test load of twice that amount viz. 106 tons.

A special platform was cast on the pile head and the load applied in the form of bags of earth, obtain ed from the site, at the rate of 20 tona per day.

Lainediately after removing the load the pile was found to have partially recovered. As the con- struction of the superstructure is proceeding it will not be possible
