The Island Reservoirs contained 1,166 million gallons on March 1st, compared with 1,140 million gallons the same time last year.

The Mainland-supply was 422 m.g. compared with 386 m.g. last

year.

The total consumption of the Colony last month was 394 m.g. so there is still over four months' supply at the present rate of con- *sumption.

The reports of the Government Bacteriologist and Analyst show that the quality of the water is satisfactory.

ANHUI ARRIVES WITH PASSENGERS AND CREW

The latest news regarding the stranded Antung ht Mofu Point indicates that 110 passengers and crew, who succeeded in reaching the beach, arrived in Hoihow yesterday morning. There are, however, over fifty still to be accounted for, and it is hoped that they had lund safely end would arrive in Hoihow later.

Heavy seas are still pounding the Autung, and there is little prospecti of salvaging either the vessel or the cargo. H.MS. Eelkestone and the 8.8. Yingehow are still standing by the ship which is being gradually broken to pieces by the breakers.

The officers aboard the Antung. at the time of the disaster-were Capt. R. H. G. Ashby, Mr. J. Patterson (Chief Officer), Mr. J. E. Storey (2nd Officer) and Mr. J. G. Lincoln (3rd Officer).

The ss. Anhui, a sister ship which was the first to reach the wreck, arrived in the Colony yesterday morning with 286 passengers and be members of the crew, including all the European officers.

A farewell tea-party. was given.by the Hong Kong University under- graduates at the Union Assembly Room yesterday afternoon in honour of Prof. L Forster, MA., Head of the Education Department, and Mr. O E R. Clarabut, B.A., lecturer in English, who are leaving the University very soon.. Prot. The party was concluded by the reading of a sonnet by, Mr. K. C. Tsang (written by himself), which was greeted with loud applause.
