PIRATES LOOT COMPARATIVELY SMALL: COMPRADORE ESCAPES WITH SMALL LOSSES
TWO LOCAL BOYS TELL THEIR STORY TO THE DAILY PRESS
AFTER A PERIOD OF OVER A YEAR'S INACTIVITY, PIRATES ON THE CHINA COAST HAVE ONOF AGAIN COME TO LIFE AND YESTERDAY A DANISH SHIP RI. TURNED TO HARBOUR, TO REPORT THAT SHE HAD BEEN ONE OF THE LONG LIST OF VICTIMS TO CHI- NESE PIRATES.
The ship was surprised at Mirs Bay at about 7.80 on Monday night and they remained on board until 6 a.m. yesterday morning, when they left taking away with them three passengers, Before leaving they took care to destroy the wireless apparatus but this was repaired by Mr. Neilsen, who in spite of the fact that he was wounded, carried out the necessary work and sent out 8.0.8. signals.
$1,000 OVERLOOKED
The pirate's loot was comparatively small, and, according to the compradore, they took very little. from his safe. One of the shelves containing over $1,000 in cash was left alone, owing to the fact that the pirates were unable to break it open.
Two Hong Kong boys, who were on board the ship at the time related in graphic language the story of piracy to the Daily Prens respresentative, who was among the first to board the ship on its arrival in Hong Kong yesterday morning. The two youngsters pretended to be cameramen employed by the Kwangsi Government and the pirates, in a wave of patriotism left them alone.

Although badly wounded, the chief officer pluckily repaired the set and sent out distress calle after the pirates had decamped.

The Wong brothers had their first taste of the pirates early the next morning when the cabin door was hammered with the butt of a re- volver. At first the brothers ignor ed the knocking but on the threat of death if the door was not open- ed, they unlocked the door.
