Those who attended the American wrestling match between "Tiger" Daula and Joe Cross, staged at the Kowloon Football Club yesterday afternoon, must have come away with a disgusted opinion of this kind of fighting.

CHAMPIONSHIP

The annual athletic sports of the Central British School took place on Saturday afternoon on the school grounds at King's Park, Kowloon. Keen competition be tween the various "houses," and exciting finishes were features of the afternoons' sport. 2

With a two hour limit, the fight came to an abrupt end after 85 minutes when Daula, in a flying tackle, floored the somewhat groggy Joe Cross, and pummelling him into a state of helplessness, pinned both shoulders for the required verdict. Daula furious with anger, pushed his assailant aside, and with a final kick of contempt retreated to his corner.

The Preliminary Bouts.

Daula continued to be worried by the "punches" and was evidently som at heart. Cross in boxing manner warded off his opponent with a face clip. Daula was furious and in reply plainly slapped Cross in the face, which evoked a fruitless appeal!

Bull Butting.

Three very interesting, prelimin ary bouts of Indian wrestling pre-less to govern the two men, caded the main bout, and these proved to be both enjoyable and. delightful to watch. The clean tackling and sportsmanship shown between the competitors won the appreciation of the audience.

The first bout, between W. Singh (165 lbs) and F. Singh (188 lbs) started off with a friendly hands shake! Crouching for a tackle the two men closed in and grappling at each other, F. Singh lifted his man high in the air and carelessly dumped him on the mat, following up with a body hold. W. Singh however, cleverly wriggled free and tackled his oponent in a business like manner. After struggling for some time, F. Singh succeeded in the side of the mat for a breather but on being ordered come back and kept Daula at bay
