Members are renunded that they and their ladies must wear their hadgos prominently displayed.

No one without a badge will be ad mitted to the Mombers' Enclosure.

Badges admitting non-members to the Members' Enclosure and Ulub Rooms at 810.00-per day including tax-or 840.00 including tax for the Meeting (ladies 85.00 and 820.00 respectively), are obtainable through the Secretary upon introduction by a Member, auch Member to be respon- sible for all chits, etc.

Tests have been conducted 'mt Brooklands aerodrome with a para: chute specially designed for the use of the Houston Everest expedi- tion.

The parachute is of the G.Q type, developed by Mr. Raymond Quilter, and it was dropped with a dummy so that slow motion cine ma pictures could be taken of the opening of the canopy.

For use in the rarefled air at high altitudes, the canopy of the parachute has to be larger, or the that nt which it is safe to make a rute of descent increases beyond

landing.

Sir William Murison, the Chief Justict, S.S., will go on leave by the Ranpura from Singapore on April 14, and upon the expiration of his leave on Sept. 2, he will de finitely retire from the service.
