life. The Army officers discipline their man by reading Imperial Re scripts that bring tears to the eves of offenders, for all misdemeanours and derilictions are against the divine Emperor. From the day the soldier euters barracks every care is taken to inculcate what known as the Seven Duties of the Soldier, namely, loyalty, valour, patriotism, obedience, humility, morality and honour. Long lee tures are given on these subjects and every opportunity taken to in stil these virtues in the men.
