C.S.C.C. ». KOWLOON.
Kowloon C.C. visiting the Civil Servico at Happy Valloy, won their First Division match, but it was a near thing. C.8.C.C. were out for 160, Burnett and Goodwin doing the damage. Four of the Home term, Barrow, Wellington, Wood, and Wilson made nearly all the runs. K.C.C. started very badly. E C. Fincher doggedly kept his end up, but the others could made nothing of Hamilton's swervers. Goodwin mádo a valuable 15, but Smith was the hero of tho ocension. With in- cher and his partner, the score cropt up steadily, and then with G. C. Burnett the victory was clinched.

before entering these tanks with a light, ta take the necessary precau- tions to drive out the gas, and this was done in the present case, but apparently some of the oil fumes
·remained, for as soon as two Chi- nese fitters and a boy entered the hole with a lamp there was a terrifo explosion which blew the men with great force against the top of the hold, and shook the vessel from stem to stern, Two of the atters were killed instantly, but the boy was pluckily rescued by Mr. George While of the Dock Co. He was seriously injured, however, and Had to be removed to hospital. The outbreak of flame following the explosion caused an alarm of fire to be raised, and the Yaumatá-sec- tion of the brigade and the fire fost put in an appearance, but their services were not required. The damage done to the ship is estimated at $500--Hong Kong Daily Press, February 6, 1908,
