MACAO RACES
PROSPECTS OF SECOND EXTRA MEETING
SOME SELECTIONS FOR THE PUNTER
(BY MORNING DEW.")
The Macao Jockey Club's second Extra Race Meeting takes place to morrow at Areia Preta, Maca, and there is
. programme of seven races on the card. "Macao
ubscription griffins will have veral races to themselves and these ponies, being somewhat erratic in their form, there is a distinct like lihood of good dividends.
The programme opens with a race for subscription griffins of the Macno. Club which have not won at the first extra race meeting. The vent is over half a mile and as there are no less than thirteen en tries, punters will be hard put to it to try and pick the winner Shimmy II ran a good race on January 15 when he was second to Battling Horse, over five furlongs. He ought to win this event to The strongest opposition will come from Cheerful Sun, who was only a short head behind Shimmy II the last time out. An- other good candidate is Carnation II, and it looks as though this pony might get a place.

kept for this race and Pure Music too. If Venturous goes out here he might got a place, beenuse the shorter distance should suit him.
Novices Race..
The fifth rnee is for novices over' once round. Valley Hall is eater- ed and should win if started Buchanan is a good candidate and with a nine pounds, concession, should prove an attractive bot. Powerful King might have a good deal to-day- bore and Gallant Fox is not entirely out of the running. Imperial Hall ran badly in Kwanti Inst Sunday and does not appeal, while Banjolina is going out in the Ladies race which is next on the
card.

The last race of the day is oYBI a mile and a quarter and there seems to be no reason why Tien 10.23 Feng Shan should not win her: especially since he is in at a very convenient weight. Blue Plane the other place and if anything is 10,30 looks as though he is going to get going out here and which will becoming in the nature of an upset kept for Inter races as most of the it will be from Battling Horse, entries are also entered for later

events. However, in spite of his weight, if New King were to start: in the second race, he should win. Blue Plane, I see has got his handi. cap at 149 pounds and this might prove to be a great advantage for him. Drian at 157 is not such a bad thing, and is likely to run into a place. Battling Horse, Bold Lad and Jackie will probably wait for a later event, but if they start here they are all good each-way bets, particularly Battling Horse.
The third race over six furlongs is, for, anbseription griffins which have arrived since December 5, 1032, and one can hardly have any doubt about Battling Horse's ability to win this event. I pick Bold "Lad and Jackie for the other places.
The fourth race is also for subs of the Macao Club. It is over once round and any of the panics selected for the earlier races which do not face, the starter have a chance of getting this event. Drian might be

have been somewhat delayed by the The local League matches, which Interport, will be in full swing to- day, when no less than fourteen games in the three divisions will be decided.
All these matches, however, are replays, three in the first Division six in the second and five in the third.
In the first Division the best match will probably be that between the Navy and the Police. In their last encounter the latter won by four goals to nil, but the sailors will probably turn the tables this afternoon, as they are able to draw upon a lot of new talent from the many ships now in harbour.

The two rival Clubs, in the Third Division, the Radio and St. Joseph' will clash at Happy Valley, and the match is promised to be a very keen and hard fought one. In their last encounter, St. Joseph's just managed to win by the odd goal in three. It must be said, however, that at that time the winners turn ed out several second division play- era; and it is no surprise, that the Radio, who have been improving match after match, will avenge their defeat this afternoon.
The R.A.8.C. and South China match also promises to be a good
