BRITISH TEXTILES
VERY ATTRACTIVE OVERSEAS
ROPE FOR LANCASHIRE
London, Dec. The increasing demand for British, textile goods bath overseas and within Britain is revealed by Mr Fred Mills, chair man of the British Textile Exhibi- tion Committee of the British-In- ductries Fair. Mr. Mills, said, at the present rate of exchange, |British goods are very attractive to overseas consumers. There is every indication at the next British Industries Fair there will be s heavy, attendance of buyers from overscas.. Recent textilè wages re- ductions in Lancashire, Sontland and Yorkshire have led to a lower- ing of prices. In consequence over- Beax inquiries have been stimulated and keen interest.in British fabrics aroused.
At the White City next February textiles exhihite will include a new section devoted almost entirely to soft furnishings in which firms from Lancashire, Yorkshire, East Anglia" and Wales will take part. Lancashire is expecting to book many orders for India and South Africa Onr share in the world's ex port trade is now, growing instead of declining
