"Fireman, Save My Child "which is showing at the Queen's Theatre with Joe E. Brown, the "Big mouth" comedian, in the title role, is a film that tells more about base ball than fire as its title leads one to expect...
The story tells of an assistant fire chief who is also a crack baschall pitcher, in small town called Rosedale. COMPETENT PERFORMANCE WINDS UP SEASON
January, 7 Unlike Carmen, Faust does not translate well into Italian, and the pure classic style of singing re- quired is very different from the modern Italian method. Indeed, very few Italians have been famous as Faust, not even Carum, whe fancied himself in the part, being able to satisfy those familiar with such singers ns Jean te herke
It was therefore a pity that the San Carle Company chose this work for the last night of their season on Friday, although the packed house testified to its ever. green popularity.

The Fountain of Youth." n comio opers composed by Afrod Reynolds and written by W. Gra- ham Robertson, author of "Pinkie and the Fairies, will be present ed this month at the King's. Then- tre by the Society.
The scene of the opera is laid in the country village of Yongly, and the first of the two acta opens with the celebration of the 30th anni versary of the wedding of Farmer and Mrs. Dalebrook. During th festivities Mr. Dalebrook tells the assembled villagers of the legend of "The Fountain of Youth,” whic was anid to flow from a well in the villago, the story asserting that to drink of the water would bring back youth.
With the discovery that the water has again, commenced tu flow, the excitement runs high, and the fun races on space.
The tunes are simple and melo dious, while the plot is full of amusing and ingenious surprises, and some of the beat amateur talent in the Colony has been en- listed to provide the public with an oxhilarating and merry even- ing'e entertainment.
The dancing has been placed in the capable hands of Miss Winifred Henderson, and culminates, with v special ballot in the 2nd Act which is composed of some of the younger members of Hong Kong's mari Bot.
Three evening performances are to be given at 9.30 p.m. on Jan uary 18th, 20th and 21st, and His Excellency the Governor, who is Patron of the Society has express-" ed his intention of attending the performance on the 20th.
