LONDON, Dec. 14. Suver, like other commodities, is reacting in an abnormal mannar to the daily fluctuations of sterl ing. As the £ depreciate in gold values the prices of commodities as quoted in sterling should normally rise accordingly, but in the recent movements of the currency com- molities have moved with and not contrary to the "E. The price of silver at the beginning of Novem- ber was 188d. per oz. but has de- elined in sympathy with the £ to 178d,

At the present time the silver market is mainly dependent upon the East and there sterling has a greater domination than gold. Eastern currencies are linked to sterling rather than the dollar and both India and China have found it profitable to sell silver on a fall in sterling and to repurchase on any improvement,
