DEAN OF HONG KONG, THE VERY REV. A. A. SWANN, THE ARCHDEACON OF CANTON, THE REPRESENTA. TIVES OF THE C.M.S. AND THE B.C.M.S. AND OTHER CLERGY OF THE DIOCESE, WHO THEN CONDUCTED THE BISHOP TO THE EPISCOPAL THRÓNE WHERE HE WAS INSTALLED BY THE DEAN "IN THE FOLLOWING TERMS:---
I, Alfred Swann, Dean of this Cathedral Church, acting according to the letters Commendatory of His Grace the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, do install and enthrone you, Right Reverend Father, into the, Cha'r Episcopal of this Cathedral Church, and do place you in this Seat in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Punctually at 5.30 p.m. moved in procession from the Cathedral Hall, through the West door, and when all had passed into the Cathedral the door was shut. The choirs headed the procession and led the congregation in an im- pressive singing of the hymn "Lord pour they Spirit from on High." (355, A. and M.).

Prayers were said for the Bishop, the clergy and people, and for brief space silent prayer was offer ed by the new Bishop.
While the Psalm CXXII was sung ("I was glad when they said unto me, We will go into the House of the Lord") the Dean and the Arch- deacon of Canton led the Clergy of the Diocese to the West door, the congregation turning towards the West at the conclusion of the Psalm.
