Government proposals to institute single selling organisation on the 1st of January which all mills will be forced by law to join have been published, and are now being cop- sidered by the Volksraad (People's Council). Whilst, the Government have the power to override any decision that the Volksraad may come to, the debate is looked for ward to with considerable interest and it is believed in some quarters that level voting will be witnessed. Should an adverse vote bo register- ed, it is generally expected that the Government will exercise their power of veto, though the possibility of their not doing so always exists. V.J.P. SELLING PRICES remain unchanged though an easier ten- dency is shown to-day, the V.J.P. being free sellers for local consump- tion ex Bourabaya stocks at.f.61 f.c. without license. $131 V.J.P. SALES amount to 12,617
