JAPANESE plates are carrying out daily reconnaisance fights along the. Jehol-Manchüküb border, but there have beeu, no clashes, and, despite rumours in certain quarters, it is believed in Peiping that no serious developments are likely..
TROOP MOVEMENTS REPORTED
SHANGHAI, Dec. 25. Foreign reports received here in dicate that the Jebof situation is definitely drifting towards a serious tura as both the Chinese and Japan- ese troops are preparing for even tunlities.
Telegrams this morning report that Japanese troop movements continued all night which seem to confirm carlier Chinese report that Japanese and Manchukuo Troidps were being rushed in large rambers to the Jehol border with the object of attacking Chileng, Chaoyang and Chenteb.
It is stated that the Chinese troops in Jehol, which have been greatly, strengthened by the arrival of reinforcements, will resist any attempt to invade the province.
JAPANESE 'CLAIM' SUCCESS
HAREIX, Dec. 25.
It is reported that the Chinese Volunteers, under the command of General Li Hai Ching and General Tang Won, two famous anti-Man chukue commanders, are now moving in the southern direction in an attempt to reach Shanhaikwan vie Taocan and Jehol.
Japanese reports claim that the forces of these two generals have suffered .reverses in the vicinity_of Paichuan, north of Harbin, stating that Genaral Tang Wen has sent a representative to Peiping to ask for assistance..
