The
There Was only one League) match in the Senior Division on Saturday last and that was uo- Commonly uninteresting. The poor old Civil Service batting breaking down again. Sayer and Richard- un put up thirty for the first wie kot but after that Wood alone, who kept his bat straight for once, offer ed any resistance to Beck and Reid. Sayer was unfortunate in being the only two hails from Beck that bumped. E. B. Reed got the other and was taken in the same place, but on the whole the ball kept low on a rather overwatered pitch, and Beck managed to hit the stumps six times mostly due to sheer bad batting. I sec overyone has it that Beck look eight for twenty-seven; but, as the bowling analysis tallies and there are two no balls in the Extras, one of which he bowfed, he actually took eight for twenty- eight. It is eurious that for years prastically all scorers here have refuel to add in no-balls and wides to the bowlors debit; The Chub of conese got the runs easily enough. It was a member of the JEK.C.C. who told me that the C.B. bowling was not made the best of and that Richardson was not in his opinion an opening bowl er, or except on his own wicket, a bawler at all. The Reed-Richard- son combination worked well enough against the Indians in the league maich, but then the slow bowler was bowling a length, which he had not done since. Baker is probably the most dangerous howler on the side after Reed, and Wallington, who never seems to get much of a bowl, noxt. However the primary thing for the C.S. is to get batamen, A fow nets might help some of them,
Dull Game at Sookunpoo. The absence of Omar from the Craigeugower side robbed the friendly at the L.R.C. of a good deal of its interest as the Indians nover hud much difeulty with the bowling. I rather think that R. Len gains a good deal of moral support when Omar is bowling at the other end. Craigengower made a draw of it, but the scorers žemių, ed to get a bit tind with the bowl ing analysis as Madar is shown as sending, down one over with three Imaidens in it. Buat perhaps it was the copying. By the way C. W. Lam got both runa and wickets and seems to be getting back to his old farm. I wonder they don't try Lim at number seven for a bit. He is and out of form when opening the innings..
