These are culminating incidente in the great round-up made by the French police in their efforts to stem the growing tide of drug trafficking.

Sixteen arrests were quickly mado after the police had succeeded in smashing one of the biggest drug rings in Paris and seizing four of its principal members. On that oc casion nine pounds of morphine, opium, cocaine and heroin werd found stored in a garret.
