Many friends and fellow-wrokers of the date Graham Wallas meet on Oct. 20 to honour his memory in the School of Economics, where his life-work is still a living influence. A room is to be dedicated to Gra- ham Wallas in the new buildings of the school. In the company that listened to the appreciations of the great teacher. at the meeting were many leading writers on economics, and progressives in politics and so- cint reform. Amongst the speakers were Mr. H. G. Wells, Sir Josiah Stamp, and Sir Arthur Ste-l-Mit- land.
A Fine Fiat Achievement. With the complotion of the new block of flats which was opened by Lady Patricia Ramsay the number of flats built in the last six years by the St. Pancras House Improve- ment Society totals 160. The socie ty, formed in 151, with £230 capi- tal, no site, and much hope, aimed modestly at reconditioning some of the Inuentable houses in the Somers Town area, and did so. Then, it began to build, firat Bete and then blooks of fate. By the beginning of this year it had rais ed altogether £102,000, and had completed its latest block of flate with a delightful nursery school which Princess Arthur of Con naught-opened.
