ST. JOSEPH'S SPRING A SURPRISE

UNDEFEATED LINCOLNS GOES UNDER: A. V. GOSANO SCORES ONLY GOAL IN THRILLING MATCH

KOWLOON SCORE HEAVILY AGAINST RECREIO: BORDERERS

SECONDS NET TWELVE GOALS AGAINST CLUB ·

One of the surprises of the local soccer season occurred on Saturday when the strongly fancied Lineola Regiment lost two valuable points by going under to St. Josephs. The winners were assisted by the Interport "star" A. V. Gosano, who turned out for the first time this season and it was Gosane who, in the first half of the game, gave the College team the fead which they keld until the final whistle was blown, --

Heavy scoring seemed to be the order of the day, the biggest gap occurring in the second division match between the Borderers and the Club, the former piling up a dozon goals without conced- ing anything to their opponents, The Kowloon Football Club in the firat division match triumphed over Recreio to the tune of & goals to 2, which South China beat Easter in the second division by five clear goals. The Chinese Athletie's third team playing against the R.A.S.C went down for the first time, the soldiers being vie torious by six goals to two.

What looked like an easy game for St. Josephs proved to be their downfall when the College team met Taung Tsin A.A. at Caroline Hill, The Collegians did not appear to take the game seriously until their opponents had scored a goal, but when they settled down to their work they found the Tsang Tsin quite hard nut to crack. Tho goal conceded by the College in the earlier part of the game proved to be the only goal scored in the match. The losers would have gone down by a bigger margin but for the splendid goalkeeping of Souza.
