POLICE R.C. DEFEAT 1.R.C.

Saturday marked the opening of the Cricket League when, the Police R.C. defuated the Indian 1.C. at Happy Valley by 20 runs.

It will be recalled that the Indians have lost to the Police for the last two seasons, so that result was not altogether a surprise.

The Police batted first and it must be admitted their opening wos promising to their opponents, five batamen being dismissed for 13 runs! Nevertheless the Alian cleven were halked by Carey and Loughlin, each standing for 30.

But it was their bowling that wen the match for the Police, Hunter taking five wickets for twenty-five

runs.
