ARMY ELEVEN'S DISAPPOINTING DEBUT

VOLUNTEERS EXTEND CLUB: K.C.C. INTER-CLUB

MATCH

BOWLERS AGAIN ASSERT SUPERIORITY

The newly-formed Army team gave a disappointing dispiny on their first appearance against the Indians on Saturday.

When opposed to the lopting of Perairo, Minu and 'Bakar, their batting wiitesi lamentably, the whole side being sent back to the pavilion for 20 run. Tidlap R.C. registered an easy win.

In the two day fixture with the Volunteers, the Club team will have to put up good howling performance to stave off a first innings deficit, as the Volunteers with 9 wickeln still in haud have to of the necessary 180 runs afrendy on the board.

An interesting match is being played at the K.C.C. where two home tentus' are engaged in a two-day fixture.

Several friendly games were played in the Junior Division,- perhaps the post interesting being the one at Suokunpoo where The Indian 1. gave a glimpse of what they could accomplish by rattling up ISI Pans for five wickets in less than 105 minutes,

VOLUNTEERS H.K.C.C.. Batting first, the Club team made poor use of the good wirket in the opening stages of their first jonings, Beck and Baker of the Volunteers routing the first six batsmen. The Club's "tail" wugged, how- Lowe (32), ever, and thanks to Dickitt (43 not out) and Neid (39) Beck the score was taken to 180. bowled splendidly to take 5 wickets for 49 runs.

The Volunteers have replied with; 80 for the loss of one wicket and look to be in a sound position.
