The football season officially opened on Saturday when there were no fower than eleven matches decided.

That the Chinese teams, which were absent from the league last year, are going to make up for lost time, is, amply evident by the sweeping victories which they had in all divisions of the lengue.

St. Joseph's were occupied in the four and third divisions and won in both places. The Club de Reersio's first team went under by seven goals to one in the first division and their third division also were beaten by the same ma gin.

FIRST DIVISION

'S.C.A.A.. KOWLOON

This was the outstanding match of the afternoon and drew a fall house at the R.F.C.'s ground.

The Chinese played superior foot ball throughout and by the inter val were two clear goals ahead of Kowloon. At no stage did Kow. doon look a beaten team, but try as they would they found the Chinese, defence a bit too good for them.

Eive minutes after the start, South China drew first blood to the accompaniment of a great cheer

from their large crowd of support ers. Just before the interval they scored a second 'goal.

On resuming, the Kowloon team forced a couple of corners, but weak shooting by the forwards spoiled several opportunities. The Chinese in their turn pressed Kow loon and a clever movement be tween their right wing and inside right resulted in the hall being hendel into the net. The fourth goal came shortly afterwarda' and then the pace slowed down visibly. The Kowloon team, undaunted by their four goals deficit,, kept their end ap and just before the final whistle, were rewarded with single goal. The final score,was 4-1 in favour of South China.

This game was one of the pret- tiest seen on the Kowloon ground For many a long day. A large num- beg of spectators saw the game.
