In view of the disastrous effects of the Yangtsze foods and Japan. ne military aggression, the banks of issue have recently petitioned the Government for a reduction of the rate. It was in compliance i with this petition that the reduc tion was granted by the Executive Yuan yesterday,

The following are some of the salient features of the revised Regulations:---
1. All banks of issue shall be liable to pay the prescribed tax on banknotes,
