History of the Organ. No organ was installed in the church at its opening in 1000, and at first a harmonium was hired. In 1907 an American organ was pur chased for the sum of 8175, and this instrument was used until 1911.

In January, 1010, the Church Ven- try decided to open an Organ fund with a view to securing an organ and Mr. W. C, Blackott, the build- worthy of the church. It was esti mated that the sum required would be about 83,000, and at the Vestry meeting held in March, 1910, it was announced that this sum had been raised. Tanders were invited from three English firms, and that of Messrs. J. W. Walker and Sons was accepted.

The work was put in hand in June, 1031, and from December, 1931, till June, 1932, the organ was out of action, and a piano sad » small organ (the latter kindly lent by the Victoria Home), were in- stalled in the choir. The completed instrument is a tribute to the skill and experience of Mr. Blackett.

The organ was built in England under the supervision of Mr. B. L. Frost, a member of the Vestry, who went on furlough to England at that time. Upon completion, it was dismantled, marked for. re-

Reconstruction Planned.
