There are four great personali- ties, all born in the later part of the eighteenth century, who played a great part in the doings of the Club' in the curlier portion of the minateenth century. William Ward (1787-1849) was born in the year in which the Marylchons Club was founded, and joined it just in time to play on the first ground where he made his Arat appearance in July 1910..
