The fancy dives from springboard was an interesting and spectacular event and the judges found it dim- cult to award the honours, in view of the fact that it was a handicap event, Ultimately the award was made to Ed, da Roza who with 64 points was declared winner from L. Roza Peroira who was given 83 points.

Royal Marines H.M.S. Tamar won by 48 points.

FINE SHOOTING BY. S. CONWAY.

Comic Interludes,

The blindfold race provided, a comic interlude, whon twenty seven competitors took the water and in an attempt to race over two lengths of the bath, ducked each other profusely. The tug-of-war I was, however, the really comic. itera on the card and the efforts of the heaviest team to make headway against a stubborn team of light. weights sent the audience into roars of laughter.

The water polo game between those under and over 24. years of age resulted in a win for the latter, though the game should have gone to the youngsters, who put up a very clever game and with a bit of luck might have been half s dozen goals ahead. As it was they went down by four goals to two, The very last goal against them, I thought, was no goal at all, as the ball appeared to strike the up- right and bounced back into play, but the referee awarded the point against thom. The third goal against the youngsters also resulted from a bit of bad luck, as a mis understanding between the backs

S. Conway gave a consistently and goalkeeper led to the ball feat. good exhibition of rifle shooting ing into their goal. It was retreiv- nt Kowloon Tong on Saturday od while still halfway on the line, when he scored a total of 86 points but the referee awarded a goal over three ranges in the All-

against them. Comers' Contest Sgt. Freebor of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders returned the next best card with a score of 04.

Mrs. B. Holmes, the only lady competitor, put up a meritorious performance in securing fourteenth place with a score of 44.
