The second namo that must be recorded is that of the Earl of Win- obilsen. I cannot trace the date of his birth but he was educated at Eton where he learned his cricket. He was first a member of the Hambledon Club, and later of the Old White. Conduit C. He had ben playing cricket for a good many years before 1786 when he mals his first suggestion to Thomas Lord Incidentally he raised a regiment for servies in Canada and commanded it himself, which ne- spunts for hin abuence from the gamo for some years. A good player himself he was also an excellent judge of the game and ho it was who introduced Lard Fredarick Beauclerk to the Club in 1701. He is described, as being ene of the good old courtly school. The trophy is a large and hand- some clock presented by Lieut.Col. N. C. Bennett, O.D.E.; M.C. Each Company has its own rasing boat, and cach Company enter 4 crews. In each race the winning crew gats one point, the second 2 and so on. Therefore each Company, strives for lowest points The Company with the lowest points at the end of the afternoon's sport receives the Com- manding Officer's clook.
The weather was ideal for this kind of sport and remained fine throughout the racing. The trophy was presented by Mrs. Bennett at the finish of a fine efternoon's untor- tainment for all concerned.

An attractive programme has been drawn up for the final U.R.C. swimming gala of the season, which will take place to-night.
In the "A" or championship class the swimmers (the Colony's best) will be seen in a fast 100 yarda sprint. Wilfred Lawrence is in very good trim and will put up a strong fight against S. V. Gittins and Ed da Roza. It is expected that they will cqual o seconds dead for the distance or even less. The race will be a thrilling one to waten.
