The Scheldt Tunnels.
Work on the two tuanels under the Scheldt River between Antwerp and Ste. Anne, which was begun in April, 1931, continues, with every indication that operations will be completed before the scheduled date in 1035. These tunnels are being built by a Belgian firmi, on plans drawn by the former chief engineer of the Holland Tunnel in New York and by an American firm of consulting engineers. The total cost of the two tunnels is estimated at approximately $11,200,000.
