NEW H.K.F.A. COUNCIL ELECTED

IMPORTANT DECISION AT LAST NIGHT'S MEETING

PROCEEDINGS AT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING DECLARED NULL AND VOID

"I am sure that if we all determine that nothing shall oc-· · cur in future to mar that sporting tradition, then nothing in the way of a major dispute can occur; and the Colony will again be an example of the practical application of the principles of

· true sportsmensbip."

Gentlemen, before, we dispores this evening, let us pledge our- selves to that aim," said the Hon. Mr. B. H. Kotewall at the conclusion of the extraordinary meeting of the 'Hong Kong Foot- ball Association over which he presided.

The meeting was held in the board room of Messrs. Jardine Matheson and Co., Ltd, last evening, and a feature of it was the representative nature of the gathering.

It will be remembered that there had been some discontent re- garding the proceedings at the annual general meeting of the As- sociation held on July 8, last, and yesterday's meeting was call- ed to declare those proceedings null and void and also to alter certain rules. The first resolution, proposed by the chairman and seconded by Mr. R. K. Duncan was carried unanimously.

MR. W. E. HOLLANDS RE-ELECTED

SECRETARY

Ospi. Elliott Haywood. Mr. Kotowall then asked Capt. Heywood to speak on the altera- tions to the rules suggested by him and in addressing the inesting, Capt. Heywood said:--

Mr. Chainman, and Gentlemen;-- The proposal shewn on the Agonda regarding the suggested re-organisation of the Council, and the consequent amendments to Rules 3, 4 and 5, stands in my

name.

I do not think it is necessary to say very much about these propos. als, as they are, I venture to say set out in plain language, and there is a "set out" of the Officera and Council attached which shews how the Connell would be made up if the amendments to rules are ap proved.
