[TARONG AKUTER'S AGENCY.].
LONDON, June
IMING at showing British netivities in China, with the view to their expansion, the. Fiancial Times has issued h 30-page supplement reviewing the conditions and prospects in China and Hong Kong.
Editorially, it says that the forers which must be relied upon to integrate China paychologically are akin to those ing behind her banking, industrial, and trade developments.
It suggests that it would be very wise to minimise the incon venience of these economic changes, and influence their reactions by taking advantage of the opportunities they offer for co-opera- tion in local and general qgestions, such as the administration of the International Settlement in Shanghai and the modifying of extraterritoriality,
The journal observes that the Japanese withdrawal of her troops places the mediating Powers in general, and Great Britain particularly, in a position to take the initiative.
Concurrently, it incronses the fensibility of the suggestion that the technical fescurcan of the League of Nations should be enlisted for the service of China.
